It depends on the piece. A carved dining set and a set of coasters are not comparable, and the minimum for a made-to-order item is usually lower than for something we hold. Tell us the item and the quantity you have in mind and we confirm the minimum with the quotation — we would rather quote your actual requirement than publish a number that fits nothing.

Yes. This is most of what we do. Send drawings, dimensions or simply a photograph of something similar, and we will make a sample to it. Carving depth, wood, finish and upholstery are all specified by the buyer. Our carvers work from patterns drawn onto the timber by hand, so a new design is a normal week rather than a special project.

Yes. We make a sample to your drawing or ours, and you approve the wood, the carving, the finish and the upholstery before bulk production starts. Sample cost and whether it is credited against the bulk order is agreed when we quote.

Lead time depends on the piece, the quantity and how much carving is involved — a run of turned bowls and a set of carved thrones are very different. We quote a firm lead time with the price, and we share progress photographs at carving, finishing and packing so you are never guessing where the order is.

Mainly sheesham (Indian rosewood), mango and acacia. Sheesham is dense, takes deep carving without chipping and holds a dark figured grain — it is what Saharanpur is known for. Mango is lighter and turns well, which suits bowls, urns and serveware. Acacia is harder-wearing and we use it for kitchen tools that get daily use.

Yes. Patterns are drawn onto seasoned stock by hand and cut with chisel and gouge, then sanded through progressively finer grits. Nothing is pressed, printed or heat-transferred. It is slower than machine work, and it is the reason the pieces still read as hand-made close up.

Oil, wax, lacquer and gilding, plus upholstery in the buyer's own fabric. Kitchen and serving pieces are finished in food-safe oil. If you have a finish reference or a colour standard, send it with the enquiry and we will match it on the sample.

In our own workshop in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh — the town has been a woodcarving centre for centuries and the skill here is inherited rather than trained. We are not a trading house reselling other people's stock.

Yes — we supply wholesale and export buyers as well as the Indian market. Tell us the destination port or city with your enquiry so the quotation reflects the right packing and freight basis.

Pieces are wrapped and crated for freight, with carved edges and gilded surfaces protected separately. We prepare the invoice and packing documents your freight forwarder needs. If you have your own packing specification, we will follow it.

A handloom apparel line — khadi and cotton kurtas, Nehru jackets and shirts — made and packed in graded size runs for wholesale buyers. It runs alongside the woodwork rather than replacing it.
